There are various fasting types like the dry fast, raw fast, just fast, water fast, and full fast. People follow any type of fast that suits their specific needs and abilities. Water fasting, which is also known as wet fast, is a fast where people only consume water for hours or days without any food. Water fasting is recommended to be done for 52 hours for better results.

During a fast, the body takes time to heal itself by removing all the pollutants and toxins in your body. And because it is a no-food fast, no toxins enter the body during the cleansing process. During this fasting process, your digestive system also gets enough time to heal itself. Researchers have found that fasting lets your brain grow and make you more intelligent. Now, dry fasting for autophagy is done without consuming any food, not even water. There are two types of dry fasting, one is hard, and the other is soft. In a hard-dry-fast, you are not allowed to let any water touch your body. So you are not allowed to take showers, wash dishes, brush your teeth, etc. Whereas in a soft dry fast, it is okay for your body to come into contact with water. During a dry fast, your skin develops a greater capacity to absorb water through the pores. And it quickly absorbs moisture for the air.

The body during a dry fast survives on the metabolic water produced inside. A therapeutic dry fast can last for as long as 5, 7, 9, or 11 days. For a beginner, it is recommended to start with water fasting. It is also best to consult a doctor if you have any physical condition, pregnant, or any other illness before you start your fast.
